Celebrating International Women’s Day: These images capture the essence of inspirational women in and around Northampton, using a 170-year-old Victorian photographic process called Wet Plate Photography.

I must say, I have fallen in love with the unique and timeless qualities of the Wet Plate Collodion process. There is something extraordinary about how the process highlights the intricate details and textures of the subjects, creating a depth and dimensionality unmatched by modern techniques.

Working with these remarkable women through this historical photographic process has been a privilege. I hope these images will serve as a reminder of women’s incredible power and resilience throughout history and inspire future generations. Next time, I won’t decide to carry out a project in just 7 days. Thank you to all who came forward for this shoot!
